The Gautam Buddha Nagar Police cracked down on a drug smuggling operation, leading to the arrest of five women involved in cannabis trafficking. A significant amount of 6.1 kg of illegal cannabis was seized from the suspects. The arrested women are facing charges under the NDPS Act as legal procedures are initiated.
The police are actively investigating the source of the seized cannabis and the distribution network that facilitated its transport to Gautam Buddha Nagar. Acting on intelligence inputs, the Sector-20 Noida police conducted a successful operation in Sector-18, apprehending the five women associated with the drug network. The arrested individuals include Neha, Prema, Bindiya alias Sonakshi, Lakshmi, and Sushila alias Karishma.
Upon interrogation, it was revealed that Neha, Prema, and Bindiya alias Sonakshi are from Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, while Lakshmi and Sushila are originally from Agra and currently residing in Delhi’s Kalyanpuri area. The police also discovered that some of the arrested women have prior criminal records, with cases ranging from theft to robbery and other offenses.
Further investigations are underway to uncover the network, suppliers, and potential buyers associated with the arrested women. Authorities have warned of taking action against any additional individuals linked to this drug trafficking ring based on the information gathered from the interrogation.
