Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel took part in the Maha Aarti at Ahmedabad’s historic Jagannath Temple, praying for the well-being and prosperity of the state’s people before the 149th Rath Yatra. Patel highlighted the festival’s significance as a celebration of harmony, service, devotion, and cultural unity. He emphasized that Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra symbolizes Gujarat’s rich tradition, cultural heritage, and social cohesion.
The Chief Minister referred to Lord Jagannath as ‘Daridra Narayan’, underscoring the message of compassion and service towards laborers and the underprivileged during the Rath Yatra. Patel urged citizens to observe the festival peacefully, promoting brotherhood, mutual affection, and social harmony. He also encouraged embracing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of collective efforts for a prosperous and developed Gujarat.
During the Maha Aarti, attended by various dignitaries and devotees, Patel prayed for lasting peace, prosperity, and overall development in the state. The 149th Jagannath Rath Yatra is scheduled to take place from the Jagannath Temple in the Jamalpur area, following traditional rituals. Extensive security and civic arrangements, including technology-assisted surveillance and traffic management, have been put in place for the smooth conduct of the procession.
