Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated a cancer screening ‘Asha Van’ in Gandhinagar. The van is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools for early detection and diagnosis of cancer, including EVA-Pro diagnostics, a mammography unit, and teleconsultation facilities.
This mobile unit will not only focus on cancer but also facilitate the detection of other life-threatening diseases like lung cancer, oral cancer, blood cancer, cervical cancer, pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, breast, and prostate cancer using modern equipment at any location. It aims to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative of ‘Health and Wellness for All’ at the grassroots level.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel handed over the cancer screening van to the Bhavnagar branch of the Indian Red Cross Society for public service. The event was attended by Genwork Pharma Managing Director Ashish Bhuta and officials from the Indian Red Cross Society, Bhavnagar branch.
CM Patel emphasized the importance of early detection in saving lives and restoring normalcy for cancer patients. He highlighted the significance of the screening van in enabling on-the-spot screening for various types of cancer in rural areas. The van has been donated to the Indian Red Cross Society to support these critical healthcare efforts.
