Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat recently had separate meetings with India’s Ambassador to Japan, Nagma Mohamed Mallick, and Air Marshal Tejinder Singh at Lok Bhavan. The discussions focused on India-Japan relations, state development initiatives, border security, and disaster management. Mallick, who assumed her role as India’s Ambassador to Japan in November 2025, visited the Governor in Gandhinagar to discuss bilateral ties and Gujarat’s contributions to economic and cultural engagement with Japan.
Air Marshal Tejinder Singh, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the South Western Air Command, also met with Governor Devvrat at Lok Bhavan. During their meeting, they discussed matters concerning the state’s border security preparedness, the Indian Air Force’s role in disaster management, and broader aspects of national defense capability. The conversation also touched upon the coordination between civil administration and the armed forces during emergencies and relief operations.
Mallick, a 1991-batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), has a background as India’s Ambassador and High Commissioner to various countries. She is known for her fluency in multiple languages and her interest in Indian classical arts. Air Marshal Tejinder Singh, with his distinguished service record, was congratulated by the Governor on his responsibilities and the Indian Air Force’s contributions to national security and disaster relief efforts.
