The Gujarat Police Recruitment Board (GPRB) has initiated a significant recruitment campaign for 13,591 positions in the Police Sub-Inspector and Lokrakshak Dal cadres, emphasizing technology-driven transparency and a meticulous approach to accuracy. This recruitment process spans 15 cities and State Reserve Police training centers in Gujarat, attracting over 10 lakh candidates vying for these positions.
GPRB Chairperson Neerja Gotru highlighted the recruitment process’s emphasis on fairness, accuracy, and public trust through the integration of advanced technology at every phase. The selection criteria prioritize a candidate’s merit and physical capabilities, ensuring a manipulation-free process.
Physical efficiency tests for male candidates are ongoing at 11 grounds until March 13, 2026, while tests for women candidates and ex-servicemen are scheduled at four grounds until March 6, 2026. These tests are overseen by expert medical officers from the State Health Department to maintain standards.
To enhance accuracy in timing during running events, candidates are equipped with RFID chips on their shoes for automatic recording of run timings down to the second, eliminating manual errors and disputes. Biometric verification, including fingerprint and facial recognition, is mandatory at all stages to prevent impersonation or malpractice.
Height and chest measurements are digitally conducted, with results displayed to candidates on computer screens for transparency. An Appeal Board, comprising senior officers, addresses grievances promptly, ensuring fairness and rectification on the spot. Results are digitally generated and shared with candidates immediately at the venue.
