The State Level Sanctioning Committee in Haryana has sanctioned a comprehensive annual action plan worth Rs 1,122 crore for 2026-27 under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY). This plan aims to strengthen agriculture and allied sectors in the state. Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi chaired the meeting where the decision was made, emphasizing the importance of effective implementation and coordination among departments to ensure farmers benefit.
The approved plan includes allocations for enhancing agricultural productivity, promoting sustainable farming practices, and improving irrigation efficiency. A significant portion of the budget will be used for agricultural mechanisation and crop residue management, key priorities for Haryana. Under the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanisation, Rs 200 crore has been earmarked to support farmers in acquiring modern agricultural machinery.
Additionally, Rs 250 crore has been allocated for crop residue management, focusing on procuring machines and awareness programs to reduce stubble burning. The plan also includes initiatives to diversify agriculture and promote sustainable farming practices. An allocation of Rs 110 crore under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture will expand horticulture activities and strengthen marketing facilities. Rs 160 crore has been set aside for the Per Drop More Crop program to promote efficient water use in agriculture, with an additional Rs 15 crore for natural farming practices in the state.
