The Haryana government has named Ajay Singhal as the new Director General of Police (DGP) to succeed O.P. Singh upon his retirement. Singhal, a senior IPS officer from Rewari district and an alumnus of IIT Delhi, brings over three decades of experience in various critical areas such as law enforcement, cybercrime, and intelligence operations.

Singhal’s distinguished service record includes accolades like the Police Medal in 2008 and the President’s Police Medal in 2017 for his professional excellence and commitment to public service. His appointment is anticipated to bolster the force’s efficiency, professionalism, and public service orientation, with a focus on enhancing law and order and citizen safety.

Expressing gratitude for the appointment, DGP Singhal thanked Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for the trust placed in him. He pledged to uphold integrity, dedication, and commitment in his duties, emphasizing priorities such as strengthening law enforcement, enhancing professionalism within the police force, and fostering public trust through modern technology and transparent, accountable policing practices.
