A 37-year-old healthcare worker, Sonu Kumar, was fatally stabbed in Bihar’s Nalanda district after receiving a phone call to come to a specific area. His family received subsequent calls informing them of his injuries. Despite medical efforts, Sonu succumbed to his wounds at Patna Medical College and Hospital.
The incident led to protests by the victim’s family and local residents, raising concerns about the region’s law and order situation. Following the tragedy, villagers and family members blocked a national highway, demanding swift justice and the apprehension of the perpetrators. Police have initiated an investigation based on the family’s complaint.
Nalanda DSP Tarkeshwar Prasad Singh confirmed the ongoing investigation, mentioning the scrutiny of mobile phone records and CCTV footage to identify the attackers. He assured that all individuals involved in the crime would be arrested as the inquiry progresses. Legal actions will be taken accordingly as evidence is gathered.
