A significant review meeting concerning security, administrative, and developmental matters along the India-Nepal border took place at Samvad Hall in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police from Bihar’s seven border districts participated via video conferencing. Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit presented an overview of the current border management status during the meeting.
Officials from various agencies like Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Intelligence Bureau (IB), and Enforcement Directorate (ED) participated, updating on their actions and providing suggestions. Discussions encompassed border security, encroachment, cybercrime, citizenship issues, infrastructure projects, and overall border region development. Chief Minister Chaudhary emphasized the importance of coordination to complete pending tasks promptly.
The Chief Minister highlighted the strategic significance of the 735-kilometre India-Nepal border, emphasizing the need for vigilance against illegal activities. He directed officials to focus on economic offenses, smuggling, and maintain friendly relations with Nepal. Additionally, he instructed the establishment of Urdu schools in Kishanganj and emphasized the need for coordination to combat smuggling activities.
