The 11th Budget session of the 14th Himachal Pradesh legislative Assembly and the fourth Budget session of the current government will start on Monday with Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla’s address, as announced by Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania. The initial phase of the session is set for three days, with a possibility of extension. So far, 125 notices of questions have been submitted by members, including 111 starred questions and 14 unstarred ones, with online submissions also forwarded to the government for necessary action.
Two online notices under Rule 62 and 101 have been received, and Speaker Pathania confirmed that these have been sent to the government for further processing in accordance with the regulations. The questions raised by members cover various topics such as the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi scheme, school mergers, road and bridge construction, project reports, educational and health institution upgrades, recruitment in different departments, youth drug abuse prevention, crime rates, and renewable energy and transportation systems.
In addition to the questions, members have highlighted key issues concerning their constituencies. Speaker Pathania has organized an all-party meeting before the session’s commencement to ensure a smooth and productive session, with the participation of the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, the Leader of the Opposition, the Deputy Chief Whip, and the Chief Whip expected. Furthermore, Speaker Pathania paid a courtesy visit to Governor Shukla at Lok Bhavan, formally inviting the Governor to attend the session.
