Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda is set to make his highly anticipated Bollywood debut with the war drama ‘Ikkis’, and fans now know where they can watch the film after its theatrical run. The Sriram Raghavan directorial will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video following its release in cinemas.

When and Where to Watch ‘Ikkis’

The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 25, 2025, positioning itself as a major holiday release. According to recent reports, Amazon Prime Video has secured the digital streaming rights for the war drama, allowing viewers to watch the film from home after its cinema run concludes. However, the makers have not yet announced the official OTT premiere date.

The Story Behind ‘Ikkis’

‘Ikkis’ tells the untold true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee. The brave army officer was martyred during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 at the age of 21, which is reflected in the film’s title.

Second Lieutenant Khetarpal was posthumously honored with the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military decoration for acts of conspicuous gallantry in the presence of the enemy. The film aims to bring his heroic sacrifice and valor to a wider audience through an authentic cinematic narrative.

Director Sriram Raghavan’s Vision

Known for his compelling storytelling in films like ‘Andhadhun’ and ‘Badlapur’, director Sriram Raghavan has promised an authentic portrayal of the war hero’s life. Speaking to PTI, Raghavan emphasized that the film will stay true to the real story without unnecessary dramatization.

“It’s not a comic-book hero version,” Raghavan stated. He further explained, “It is a bigger production; there will be tank battles and all those things that happen in a war film. But it is also a human story; it’s a drama, a coming-of-age kind of a thing.”

Star Cast and Dharmendra’s Final Performance

‘Ikkis’ holds special significance as it features the final performance of legendary actor Dharmendra, making it an emotional milestone for Indian cinema. The film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat in a key role, alongside Ekavali Khanna, Shree Bishnoi, Vivaan Shah, Sikandar Kher, Aryan Pushkar, Simar Bhatia, and Mansi Chawla.

Box Office Competition

The war drama will face stiff competition at the box office as it clashes with Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s romantic drama ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ on the same release date.

What to Expect

‘Ikkis’ promises to deliver a heartfelt narrative combining large-scale war sequences with an intimate coming-of-age story. The film will showcase tank battles and authentic war scenes while focusing on the human drama and personal journey of the young army officer.

With its combination of a compelling true story, talented ensemble cast, and Sriram Raghavan’s acclaimed direction, ‘Ikkis’ is positioned to be both a tribute to a national hero and a significant cinematic experience. Fans eager to witness Agastya Nanda’s debut and Dharmendra’s swan song can catch the film in theaters starting December 25, with Amazon Prime Video streaming to follow.
