India highlighted the seriousness of the situation in Iran, with the Embassy in Tehran actively aiding Indian nationals still present in the country. The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson mentioned that over 2,400 Indian citizens have been successfully evacuated and brought back from Iran. Despite the challenges, the Indian Ambassador and the team in Tehran are dedicated to assisting people and ensuring their safe return home.
US President Donald Trump recently extended the ceasefire with Iran indefinitely, despite Tehran’s refusal to attend further talks. Trump emphasized the need for a unified approach from Iran due to internal fractures. He also confirmed the continuation of the Naval blockade of Iranian ports, a factor influencing Tehran’s decision to abstain from negotiations in Islamabad.
Iran’s Press TV reiterated Tehran’s stance on the blockade, insisting on its removal for any resumption of negotiations. The Iranian government emphasized that it would not engage in talks under external pressure, maintaining a firm position on the issue.
