India has reaffirmed its support for Myanmar’s development by handing over three Quick Impact Projects (QIP) dedicated to the socio-economic benefit of the people in Mandalay Region. The projects include the Weaving and Vocational sector Development Project, where a modern high-tech weaving machine from India has been installed at the Saunder Weaving and Vocational Institute in Amarapura. This project aims to enhance vocational education in weaving and traditional Myanmar arts. Another project involves the inauguration of a one-story building for the Girls Training School in Mandalay Region, providing a conducive learning environment for young students. Additionally, a third project focuses on investigating a tar-free and dry type gasification process for agriculture waste products, supporting rural electrification, clean energy development, and environmental conservation. These initiatives, part of the Mekong-Ganga Cooperation (MGC) framework, highlight India’s commitment to Myanmar’s socio-economic development through targeted projects in skill development, child welfare, and clean energy research. The successful completion and handover of these projects reinforce the strong partnership between India and Myanmar.
