India has strongly denounced the recent targeted act of vandalism against a revered Sikh shrine in Pakistan. The Ministry of External Affairs expressed deep concern over the demolition of the historic 125-year-old Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Sahib in Farooqabad, Pakistan. This incident is part of a concerning trend of religious minorities and their places of worship being targeted in Pakistan.

The Ministry spokesperson emphasized the need for immediate investigation and justice for the perpetrators of this destructive act. India called for the restoration and reconstruction of the demolished parts of the Gurdwara Sahib without delay. Additionally, India urged Pakistan to fulfill its responsibilities in ensuring the safety and security of its minority communities and their places of worship.

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan had previously condemned the killing of a Sikh couple in Mardan city, further highlighting the risks faced by religious minorities in the country. The incident at the gurdwara in Mardan has raised serious concerns about the safety of minority communities and places of worship. There are calls for thorough investigations and accountability to address such attacks effectively.

A leading minority rights organization, Voice of Pakistan Minority (VOPM), also condemned the violence, stating that it represents a broader pattern of violence against minorities in Pakistan. The organization emphasized the need for justice and protection for religious minorities in the country amidst ongoing challenges and threats they face.
