Extending a warm welcome to President To Lam, Modi expressed delight at the President’s prompt visit to India after assuming office, showcasing the importance he places on bilateral ties. The visit, which began in Bodh Gaya, symbolizes the shared cultural and spiritual heritage of both nations, aiming to translate goodwill into tangible outcomes through meaningful discussions.
Modi underscored the deep-rooted historical and developmental connections between India and Vietnam, noting the shared perspective in the Indo-Pacific region. He announced plans to strengthen cooperation with ASEAN in collaboration with Vietnam, emphasizing the mutual commitment to upholding peace, stability, and prosperity through enhanced defence and security partnerships.
Expressing gratitude for Vietnam’s support in condemning the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam and standing against terrorism, Modi highlighted the economic resilience and growth potential of both nations amid global challenges. India and Vietnam are emerging as rapidly growing economies driven by talent, effective governance, and economic reforms.
