In a community outreach effort, the Indian Army arranged a special trip for specially abled children from Assam to the Golden Pagoda in Arunachal Pradesh. The Red Shield Gunners, under the Spear Corps, hosted 15 children and eight staff members from Navarupantar Children Home in Assam’s Tinsukia district. Situated in Namsai district, the Golden Pagoda is a significant Buddhist site in the Northeast, renowned for its golden architecture and cultural importance.

The children had the opportunity to explore the pagoda complex, delving into its history, Buddhist customs, and principles of peace and harmony. Throughout the visit, Army personnel ensured the children’s safety and comfort, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. Besides touring the monument, the children engaged in recreational activities, interacted with Army personnel, captured moments through photographs, and enjoyed the peaceful environment.

The initiative aimed to offer the children a meaningful experience beyond their daily lives, fostering inclusion, confidence, and social engagement. By exposing the children to a culturally significant destination, the Army encouraged curiosity and joyful learning, creating lasting memories and strengthening social bonds. This program underscores the Army’s dedication to the well-being and comprehensive development of specially abled children, promoting inclusivity and goodwill in the Northeast’s border regions.
