A delegation from India’s National Defence College (NDC) visited the Royal Thai Marine Corps Headquarters in Bangkok. The delegation engaged in discussions with the Royal Thai Navy regarding bilateral naval engagements. During their visit, they toured the Sattahip Naval Port, HTMS Chang, and the Royal Thai Marine Corps Headquarters and Museum as part of their Foreign Countries Study Tour.
The NDC delegation was briefed about the roles and responsibilities of the institutions they visited. Productive discussions on bilateral naval engagements between the Indian and Royal Thai Navies were held. Additionally, a solemn wreath-laying ceremony was conducted at the Royal Thai Marine Corps Monument to honor Thai Marines who sacrificed their lives in duty.
The delegation also visited the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) Headquarters in Bangkok. They had a courtesy call with Air Marshal Wichain Vijiradharma, Deputy Chief of Air Staff (Intelligence), to strengthen India-Thailand defense ties. The delegation warmly received toured the RTAF Museum as part of their study tour of foreign countries.
During the visit, the delegation paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Puneet Agarwal at the Embassy of India in Bangkok. Led by Maj Gen APS Bal from NDC India, the delegation engaged in discussions with Ambassador Puneet Agarwal. The discussions focused on enhancing defense-sector engagement to further strengthen the India-Thailand Strategic Partnership.
India-Thailand defense cooperation involves regular joint exercises and maritime patrols near the international maritime boundary to combat terrorism, piracy, and smuggling. It also includes officer training at each other’s Armed Forces Training institutions, service staff talks, and visits at various levels.
