Indian tennis players Ankita Raina and Zeel Desai advanced to the second round of the ITF W35 Kalaburagi tournament with impressive wins. Raina, the eighth seed, defeated Sonal Patil 6-1, 6-3 after a dominant performance. Meanwhile, Zeel Desai, the fifth seed, secured her spot in the next round by defeating Jennifer Luikham.

In another match, Karnataka’s Soha Sadiq started strong but eventually lost to Singapore’s Eva Marie Desvignes 7-5, 6-0. Unfortunately, Indian player Shrivalli Bhamidipaty had to retire from her match due to a medical issue. Top seed Jasmijn Gimbrere and sixth seed Thasaporn Naklo also advanced with comfortable wins.

The doubles draw saw India’s Sravya Shivani Chilakalapudi and Japan’s Michika Ozeki claim a convincing victory, moving into the quarterfinals. Additionally, Zeel Desai and Elina Nepliy progressed with a solid win in their match. With more Indian players advancing to the next round, the competition at the ITF W35 Kalaburagi is heating up.
