Indian U18 Women’s Hockey Team Clinches Bronze Medal at Women’s U18 Asia Cup 2026

The Indian U18 Women’s Hockey Team secured the Bronze Medal at the Women’s U18 Asia Cup 2026 by defeating Korea 3-0 in the bronze medal match in Kakamigahara, Japan. Sandeepa Kumari (2’), Captain Sweety Kujur (16’), and Nousheen Naz (33’) scored the goals, leading India to a podium finish.

India, determined to recover from their previous defeat, started strong with an early lead within two minutes. Sandeepa Kumari (2′) displayed composure with a brilliant finish. Captain Sweety Kujur (16′) then doubled India’s advantage in the 16th minute with a field goal.

Maintaining control, India extended their lead in the 33rd minute through Nousheen Naz (33′), the tournament’s top scorer. India’s solid defense denied Korea scoring opportunities, securing a clean sheet. Sandeepa Kumari was named the Player of the Match for her impactful performance and opening goal.

The bronze medal signifies a successful end to India’s campaign at the Women’s U18 Asia Cup 2026, showcasing their attacking prowess, defensive strength, and promise throughout the tournament. The Women’s U18 Asia Cup 2026 final between China and Japan is scheduled for later on Saturday in Kakamigahara, Japan.

The Indian U18 Men’s Hockey Team will compete against the Japan U18 Men’s Hockey Team in the Men’s U18 Asia Cup 2026 final later on Saturday at 03:30 PM IST.
