The Indian women’s team has arrived in Thiruvananthapuram for the third T20I against Sri Lanka, part of a five-game home series. The upcoming matches will take place at the Greenfield International Stadium. Currently, the Women in Blue lead the series 2-0 after victories in Visakhapatnam.
The BCCI recently shared a video capturing the team’s journey, including moments of players interacting with fans at the airport. The video also featured Vaishnavi Sharma, India’s newest debutant, taking photos of her teammates during the flight. The team was warmly welcomed upon reaching Trivandrum.
Reflecting on the series, India’s strong bowling performance restricted Sri Lanka to 121/6 in the first T20I. Jemimah Rodrigues played a crucial role in India’s successful chase, scoring 69 runs off 44 balls. The second T20I saw Shafali Verma’s explosive unbeaten 69 off 34 deliveries leading India to a comfortable seven-wicket victory.
Preparations are underway for the upcoming T20 World Cup in England next year, scheduled from June 12 to July 5. The league stage will conclude on June 28, with the final set to be held at Lord’s.
