India’s Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar clinched the men’s title for the third year in a row at the Asian Doubles Squash Championships in Sarawak, Malaysia. The duo, as the top seeds, triumphed over Pakistan’s Nasir Iqbal and Noor Zaman in a thrilling final, winning 7-11, 11-7, 11-2 in 47 minutes, showcasing their dominance in the tournament.

Abhay and Velavan initially faced a tough challenge but elevated their performance in the second set by displaying a mix of attacking squash and precise control, securing victory. Their path to the final included impressive wins against Japan’s Naoki Hayashi and Ren Makino in the quarter-finals and Malaysia’s Sanjay Jeeva and Duncan Lee in the semi-finals.

In other categories, India’s Joshna Chinappa and Rathika Seelan claimed bronze in the women’s doubles, while the mixed pair of Joshna and Velavan also secured bronze. Despite their best efforts, Joshna and Rathika fell short against Malaysia’s top seeds, settling for bronze. Similarly, Joshna and Velavan put up a strong fight in the mixed doubles but finished third after a closely contested semi-final against Malaysia’s Ainaa Amani and Md Kamal.

India’s Rahul Baitha and Suraj Chand faced disappointment in the men’s doubles, failing to advance after a defeat to Pakistan’s Nasir Iqbal and Noor Zaman. Additionally, the women’s pair of Janet Vidhi and Pooja Arthi concluded their campaign in sixth place.
