India’s Ambassador to Vietnam, Tshering W Sherpa, met with Phan Chi Hieu, Chairman of the Vietnam–India Parliamentary Friendship Group (VIPFG), to discuss ongoing initiatives in the India-Vietnam partnership. The Ambassador congratulated Chairman Hieu on his new role and highlighted the progressive nature of the partnership between the two countries. Both parties agreed to strengthen parliamentary friendship, exchange legislative best practices, and enhance bilateral cooperation.
The Embassy emphasized the crucial role played by the Parliamentary Friendship Groups in bolstering the India-Vietnam Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Additionally, Ambassador Sherpa engaged with Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Da Nang, to advance plans for establishing the Site Interpretation Center (SIC) at the UNESCO World Heritage Site at My Son. Discussions also revolved around upcoming activities between the Embassy and Da Nang City.
Furthermore, the Ambassador assessed the progress of restoration work being carried out by the Indian Archaeological Survey Team at My Son, emphasizing the cultural ties shared by India and Vietnam through the Cham civilization. The Embassy expressed appreciation for the collaborative partnership with Da Nang City, underscoring the value placed on this progressive relationship.
