Pezeshkian updated Putin on recent events in Iran, underscoring the involvement of the United States, Israel, and certain European nations in these incidents. He highlighted the positive bilateral relations between Iran and Russia, spanning various sectors like economy, investment, transportation, and energy. Pezeshkian noted the smooth progress of cooperation projects without encountering any significant issues.
Putin, in response, expressed Russia’s keen interest in monitoring Iran’s developments and likened recent events in Iran to color revolution scenarios. He condemned the disruptive actions of rioters in Iran, including attacks on government, public, and religious sites, as well as violent confrontations with security forces. Putin hoped for an improvement in Iran’s economic situation through governmental initiatives and assured that Russia is diplomatically engaged to clarify Iran’s position and prevent international escalations.
The Russian President affirmed Russia’s readiness to enhance ties with Iran and commended the advancements in mutual cooperation projects. He welcomed further collaboration between the two nations for mutual benefit and expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral relations. The recent protests in Iran, triggered by economic concerns, have led to both peaceful demonstrations and violent incidents, resulting in damages to public infrastructure and casualties. Iranian authorities have attributed the unrest to external influences, particularly the United States and Israel.
