Abdulmajid Hakim Elahi, Iran’s Supreme Leader Representative to India, highlighted Iran’s historical control over the Strait of Hormuz, attributing recent disruptions to conflicts involving the US and Israel. Following joint strikes resulting in Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s death, Iran retaliated, escalating tensions in the region and impacting oil supplies.

Elahi pointed out that the current crisis in the Strait of Hormuz stems from the ongoing conflict, emphasizing Iran’s traditional dominance over the waterway. He expressed hope for a swift resolution to the situation created by the US and Israel’s actions.

Discussing Iran’s enduring ties with India, Elahi emphasized the deep-rooted friendship spanning over 5000 years. He also reflected on the global mourning after Khamenei’s passing, noting his widespread respect across various religious communities.
