The Italian Open’s conclusion led to significant shifts in the latest ATP Rankings, with players making notable progress after strong performances in Rome. Jannik Sinner stood out by winning the Career Golden Masters against Casper Ruud, while Ruud himself climbed eight spots to reach World No. 17. Despite briefly dropping out of the top ranks earlier, Ruud’s Rome final appearance reinstated his position among the elite players.
Daniil Medvedev, the former World No. 1, also saw an improvement, moving up two places to No. 7 after reaching the semifinals. This marked his 18th Masters 1000 semifinal and second at that level this season. Luciano Darderi from Italy rose to a career-high No. 16 after an impressive Masters 1000 run, including a significant win over Alexander Zverev.
Rafael Jodar, a 19-year-old rising star, continued his ascent by reaching the quarter-finals in Rome and achieving a career-best No. 29 ranking. Another Spaniard, Martin Landaluce, surged 27 spots to No. 67 after a strong performance as a lucky loser, reaching the quarter-finals. Several other players, including Miomir Kecmanovic, Juan Manuel Cerundolo, and Hamad Medjedovic, also attained career-high rankings following their successes in the clay-court swing.
