The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has initiated a case of disproportionate assets against police inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary, who is the brother of Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary. The ACB’s statement mentioned that the case was registered following a verification based on specific information.
A thorough verification by the ACB revealed that Vijay Singh Choudhary, an Inspector in the Jammu and Kashmir Police, had amassed assets worth crores of rupees, which were significantly disproportionate to his known sources of income. The investigation uncovered over 10 properties, including houses, shops, and land plots, valued in crores, acquired by Choudhary in the names of family members, relatives, and others.
The ACB found evidence of criminal misconduct by Vijay Singh Choudhary during the investigation, leading to the initiation of a formal inquiry. Search warrants were obtained to conduct searches at various locations, including Choudhary’s residences in Jammu and Rajouri, as well as his business establishments. Incriminating documents were seized during the searches, and the investigation into the case is ongoing.
