Two iconic figures in Indian cinema, Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth, are often seen as rivals. However, Haasan recently emphasized that while they compete, there is no jealousy between them. Responding to a reporter’s mention of Rajinikanth’s comments on Vijay becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Haasan clarified that they have always maintained a healthy competition without any envy.
Haasan highlighted that both he and Rajinikanth have a strong camaraderie and respect for each other. He dismissed any notions of jealousy, stating that they are like sportsmen in the field of cinema, always striving to excel. Additionally, Haasan recently met with the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Vijay, to discuss ways to support the film industry in the state.
During his meeting with the Chief Minister, Haasan presented a list of six demands aimed at boosting the film sector in Tamil Nadu. These demands included the launch of a state-owned OTT platform for Tamil content, the abolition of a local entertainment tax, and the establishment of an anti-piracy unit within the Tamil Nadu Police Cyber Crime Department. Haasan also proposed measures to increase theatre revenues and incentivize film production in the state.
