The Karnataka BJP delegation, led by Leaders of the Opposition R. Ashoka and Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, met with the State Director General of Police and Inspector General of Police, M.A. Saleem, regarding the recent violence in Ballari. They requested police protection for BJP MLA Janardhana Reddy and others following the death of a Congress worker in a shootout.
Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru, Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka urged immediate police protection for former Ministers Janardhana Reddy and B. Sriramulu, citing threats to their lives. He also called for a judicial inquiry into the Ballari incident.
The BJP delegation demanded the arrest of Congress workers who allegedly trespassed into the homes of Janardhana Reddy’s supporters. They accused Ballari MLA Nara Bharat Reddy of being responsible for the events leading to the Congress worker’s death and called for his immediate arrest.
