Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed disapproval towards the Central government for the frequent increases in petrol and diesel prices. He highlighted that the BJP administration has raised fuel prices multiple times since taking office. Siddaramaiah pointed out that this surge would particularly impact ordinary citizens, including farmers and laborers, affecting their daily lives.
Siddaramaiah anticipated the price hike and emphasized its adverse effects on the common people. He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to retract the increase, stating that there was no valid reason for such a raise at this juncture. The Chief Minister also criticized the escalating prices of LPG cylinders, noting the broader economic implications of such hikes on essential commodities.
In a broader critique, Siddaramaiah accused the Centre of consistently increasing petrol, diesel, and LPG cylinder prices since Modi assumed office. He further criticized the handling of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), alleging mismanagement that has caused uncertainty for students. Additionally, he mentioned the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka, emphasizing the need for adequate preparations.
