Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar aims to create history by honoring landowners who donate land for public projects. At an event, he announced the ‘Walls of Gratitude’ initiative to recognize these contributions. The government will list the names of landowners on these walls as a tribute to their sacrifice.
Shivakumar emphasized the importance of remembering history to create a legacy. He highlighted upcoming projects like a tunnel road near Hebbal to ease traffic congestion in Bengaluru. The government plans to extend a 10-lane road named after former CM S.M. Krishna into a 123-km corridor.
The CM expressed gratitude to those who sacrificed land for development projects. He stressed the need to build a green Bengaluru in line with Kempegowda’s vision. Additionally, Shivakumar announced the planting of 15 lakh saplings by the BDA and proposed a tree-planting program involving schools.
Shivakumar outlined plans to establish a Kempegowda Study Centre at Bengaluru University. He praised the contributions of leaders like S.M. Krishna in urban development. The CM urged the people to remember the legacies of Kempegowda, Kengal Hanumanthaiah, and S.M. Krishna in shaping Bengaluru’s growth.
