The resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has stirred fresh political turmoil, leading to a dispute between the BJP and Congress. BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Lahar Singh Siroya criticized Siddaramaiah’s political tactics, accusing him of aiming to weaken the Congress in Karnataka. Siroya emphasized that the BJP is poised to assume power in the state soon.
The resignation has ignited a heated exchange between the BJP and Congress, with leaders engaging in sharp criticisms regarding the leadership transition and its timing. Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel defended the High Command’s decision, condemning the BJP for spreading hatred and misinformation. Baghel affirmed that Congress members will respect the directives from the party leadership.
In response to the situation, West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh highlighted the trend of Chief Ministers failing to complete their terms in the Congress. Ghosh stressed the importance of delivering development and justice to the people, regardless of internal party dynamics. He criticized the Congress for its history of leadership changes at the state level.

The veteran leader, known as a prominent figure in the Congress, formally stepped down as Chief Minister by submitting his resignation to the Governor’s secretary at Lok Bhavan in Bengaluru.
Addressing the media alongside Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Home Minister G. Parameshwara, Siddaramaiah confirmed that he resigned in accordance with the instructions from the Congress High Command. He expressed his commitment to following the party’s decisions and stated that he had adhered to their directive by stepping down.
Siddaramaiah, aged 78, now joins a select group of Karnataka leaders who have held the position of Chief Minister multiple times, joining the ranks of notable figures in the state’s political history.
