The Kerala Police have initiated a nationwide hackathon, ‘Hackup 2026’ (HAC’KP 2026), to enhance technology-driven policing. This hackathon, part of the Kerala Police Cyber Security Conference CoCon 2026, aims to develop innovative solutions to tackle cybercrime. State Police Chief Ravada Chandrashekhar inaugurated the hackathon’s official website and registration process at the Police Headquarters.
The initiative seeks to bring together students, researchers, startups, innovators, and cybersecurity experts from all over India. Chandrashekhar highlighted the increasing sophistication of cybercrimes, posing challenges like organised criminal networks and financial frauds. He emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to address modern policing challenges effectively.
The theme of Hackup 2026 is “Agentic AI for Investigations: From Evidence to Intelligence.” Participants will focus on creating artificial intelligence tools to analyze digital evidence and convert it into actionable intelligence. The event also marked the launch of the Kerala Police Cyberdome website and the unveiling of official promotional materials.
Senior police officials, including DGP Manoj Abraham and other key figures, attended the program. Educational institutions and technology collaborators from various parts of India also participated online. The Kerala Police have invited students, researchers, startups, and cybersecurity professionals nationwide to contribute AI-powered solutions for cyber investigations and digital policing.
