After 23 days of campaigning, Kerala’s election day has arrived with 2.71 crore voters ready to choose the state’s leadership. The voting process began early in the morning at 30,471 polling booths, signaling the start of a crucial day for the state. Queues formed across Kerala as citizens participated in the democratic process.
In Thodupuzha, elderly voters lined up, showcasing the deep civic engagement of Kerala’s electorate. In Wayanad’s Chooralmala, voters emotionally remembered those lost in a devastating landslide. The voting, covering all 140 constituencies, started at 7 a.m. and will continue until 6 p.m., shaping the state’s political future.
Notably, nearly two lakh voters have already voted from home, adding to the significance of this election. Candidates made a final push in the last hours, meeting voters and influencers to secure every possible vote. Prominent figures like Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, and V. D. Satheesan were among the early voters, reflecting the high stakes of this election.
The voting process is extensive, with measures like auxiliary booths, all-women polling stations, and enhanced security in sensitive areas. Over 76,000 police personnel are deployed across Kerala to ensure a smooth voting process.
