After Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted a packet of “Melody” to his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni, Bollywood actress Kriti Kharbanda playfully joined the social media trend. Kriti shared photos of herself in brown tones resembling the chewy toffee, with a caption questioning, “Yeh melody itni chocolatey kyun hai.”
The “Melodi” trend, a blend of Modi and Meloni’s names, has gained popularity on social media, symbolizing their light-hearted interactions and perceived strengthening of India-Italy relations. The trend started when Meloni posted a selfie at the COP28 summit in Dubai with the caption “Good friends at COP28, #Melodi.”
The video of the moment, where Modi gifted the toffee to Meloni, was shared by the Italian PM on Instagram, appreciating the gesture. Meloni thanked Modi for the gift, calling the toffee “very, very good.” Meanwhile, Kriti was last seen in the action crime drama “Rana Naidu 2,” alongside Rana Daggubati, adapted from the American series Ray Donovan.
