Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar are in Delhi for a crucial meeting regarding the speculated leadership change in Karnataka. Siddaramaiah is set to meet AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and other key party members. Meanwhile, Shivakumar, when questioned by the media, hinted at the possibility of becoming the next Chief Minister.
Before the meeting, Siddaramaiah had breakfast with several ministers and senior Congress leaders at Karnataka Bhavan in Delhi. PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi expressed confidence that the ongoing confusion within the party would soon be resolved. He emphasized that the party would respect the decision of the high command.
Jarkiholi mentioned that discussions on the post of KPCC President might also take place during the meeting. He highlighted the importance of resolving the leadership issue to address other challenges within the party. Congress MLC B.K. Hariprasad stated that while there is no official discussion on leadership change, the situation has progressed significantly.
Energy Minister K.J. George refrained from commenting on party matters, emphasizing that everyone converges in Delhi due to its significance as the political hub. The focus remains on the upcoming meeting between the high command and key Karnataka leaders to address the leadership dynamics in the state.
