Taranjit Singh Sandhu, known as the “People’s L-G,” interacted with commuters in the Delhi Metro and gathered feedback from street vendors in Connaught Place to promote people-centric governance. Unlike previous officials, Lieutenant Governor Sandhu has been meeting citizens in public without security restrictions, setting a new standard for accessibility in the Delhi administration.
His direct interactions with the public, which began in March when he shifted to Lok Niwas, have resonated with many and helped him understand the public sentiment. Recently, he traveled in the Metro, engaging with fellow passengers and discussing their daily commutes, civic issues, and hopes for the city.
Sandhu emphasized the importance of listening to citizens for effective governance, stating that staying connected with their experiences is crucial for maintaining a responsive and people-focused approach. His unique method of gathering firsthand feedback from the public has been evident in his previous visits to different areas, including Chandni Chowk, Delhi University, and cricket matches at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
