Actress Lisa Ray, during Mental Health Awareness Month, discussed her character Samara Kapoor from the series “Four More Shots Please!” and how it shed light on the challenges of bipolar disorder. In a series of Instagram posts, Lisa highlighted Samara’s journey with bipolar disorder, emphasizing the authenticity and impact of the portrayal. She stressed the importance of visibility and open conversations about mental health, breaking the stigma and silence often associated with such topics.

Lisa pointed out that the depiction of mental illness in the show was not about perfection but about showcasing the reality of living with bipolar disorder. She mentioned how Samara’s struggles with impulsiveness, emotional turmoil, and vulnerability resonated with real experiences, contributing to a more nuanced understanding of mental health issues. Encouraging compassion, support, therapy, and destigmatization, Lisa emphasized the significance of seeking help and fostering a supportive environment for those dealing with mental health challenges.

Directed by Anu Menon and Nupur Asthana, “Four More Shots Please!” features a female-led cast including Kirti Kulhari, Sayani Gupta, Bani J, and Maanvi Gagroo, portraying the lives of four imperfect yet relatable women navigating through love, mistakes, and self-discovery.
