Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) geared up for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season by engaging in a practice match against UP T20 League team Kashi Rudras at the Sports Galaxy Cricket Academy. Captain Rishabh Pant showcased his batting skills for both LSG and the opposition team ‘KR XI’ to hone his form before the season kicks off. Noteworthy performances from Pant, Arshin Kulkarni, and Shahbaz Ahmed led to a strong total for the Super Giants in the match.
The Kashi Rudras, with LSG pacers Mohammed Shami, Avesh Khan, and Mohsin Khan in their bowling lineup, posed a challenge to the Super Giants’ batsmen with a blend of disciplined swing and aggressive bouncers. In the latter part of the game, the Kashi Rudras, fueled by Pant’s aggressive batting alongside Mukul Chaudhary, Shubham, and Abhishek, thrilled the local spectators by hitting frequent boundaries.
LSG’s bowling, spearheaded by young pacer Mayank Yadav and wrist-spinner Digvesh Rathi, supported by Shahbaz and Arjun Tendulkar, showcased an impressive performance. The match attracted numerous young cricketers from the local academy who came out to support the teams. Post-match, LSG players engaged with fans, signing autographs and joining in photo sessions.
LSG confirmed the arrival of their domestic players in Lucknow, with the full squad expected to assemble over the weekend. Overseas players are set to join the team in Lucknow starting Friday. LSG will commence their IPL 2026 campaign against Delhi Capitals on April 1 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, following a pre-season camp in Chennai at the Coaching Beyond academy ground.
