Lungi Ngidi, the South African fast bowler, reassured fans about his well-being after sustaining a head injury during an IPL match between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings. Ngidi fell awkwardly while attempting a catch, causing concern among players and medical staff. However, he later confirmed on Instagram that he is on the path to recovery, thanking fans for their support.
During the game, Ngidi’s fall led to a brief halt in play as medical attention was provided on the field. He was then swiftly transported to a nearby hospital with the help of a green corridor facilitated by the Delhi Traffic Police. Fortunately, the injury was not severe, and Ngidi was discharged from the hospital shortly after, showing positive signs of improvement upon returning to the team hotel.
Despite Ngidi’s absence, the Delhi Capitals faced a setback in their bowling performance, ultimately losing the match. Ngidi, who has been a valuable asset for the team this season, has displayed strong bowling stats, taking seven wickets in seven matches with an average of 29.42 and best figures of 3/27.
