Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed deep sorrow over a tragic road accident near Temni Khurd and offered immediate financial assistance to the victims’ families. He directed officials to provide ₹4 lakh to each deceased person’s family, ₹1 lakh to the seriously injured, and ₹50,000 to others hurt in the incident. The accident, involving an overloaded pickup truck and a truck on the Chhindwara-Betul National Highway, claimed the lives of five laborers and left several others injured.
The Chief Minister extended his condolences to the affected families and prayed for peace for the departed souls. He also wished strength to the bereaved families and a speedy recovery for the injured individuals. Among the deceased were three women and two men, all laborers from Machhera village. One critically injured worker is being transferred to Nagpur Medical College for specialized treatment, with medical teams currently attending to the injured at Chhindwara District Hospital.
Authorities are investigating the accident, which occurred around 10 am, to determine the cause, including factors like high speed and overloading. The truck driver involved has been detained for questioning, and the families of the victims have been notified. The district administration has pledged comprehensive support, including medical care and compensation, to all affected families. Efforts are underway to enhance road safety measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
