Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to transfer the 34th installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana, a cash benefit scheme by the BJP government, at an event in Gwalior. The transfer will take place during a ‘Ladli Behna Sammelan’ at the Shabari Mata Temple, benefiting over 1.25 crore scheme beneficiaries. Chief Minister Yadav will engage with some recipients to understand how they utilize the monthly Rs 1,500 assistance provided under the scheme.
Launched in June 2023, the Ladli Behna Yojana has been pivotal in fostering economic empowerment and social esteem for women in Madhya Pradesh. With 33 installments already disbursed from June 2023 to February 2026, the scheme has directly credited Rs 54,140 crore to the bank accounts of beneficiary women. The state government aims to further empower women by offering avenues for skill development, employment, and self-employment, fostering self-reliance and enhancing their role in family and societal progress.
The Ladli Behna Yojana, initially providing Rs 1,000 monthly, later increased to Rs 1,250 and currently stands at Rs 1,500 per month. The government plans to raise this amount to Rs 3,000 monthly by 2028. Additionally, Chief Minister Yadav will inaugurate 54 development projects in Gwalior district, including the Sandipani School building in Kulaith and a high-level bridge over the Sank River on the Dada Khirk–Tighra road, among others. The total estimated cost of these projects is around Rs 122 crore, encompassing infrastructure enhancements in urban and rural areas of Gwalior.
