Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ Office has advised citizens to stay alert following the India Meteorological Department’s prediction of heavy rainfall in Mumbai, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Konkan, and parts of central Maharashtra from July 4 to July 6.
The State Disaster Management Department’s advisory highlighted the forecast of heavy rainfall in Mumbai city, along with Raigad, Thane, Palghar, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts during this three-day period. Moderate to heavy rainfall is also expected in the ghat areas of Satara, Pune, and Nashik districts, with potential disruptions to local travel and minor structural damage.
Citizens are urged to exercise caution, especially in low-lying areas and on ghat roads, and to reach out to local emergency authorities if needed. The State Disaster Management Department emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant and provided emergency helpline numbers for residents in the affected regions.

Authorities have taken precautionary measures as weather conditions worsen, including declaring holidays for schools, colleges, and Anganwadi centers in Palghar district. In the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation limits, classes have been suspended following a red alert for Thane district, ensuring the safety of students and staff.
