Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed strong confidence that the Women’s Reservation and Constituency Delimitation Bills will pass in the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament. Shinde highlighted the challenges of serving large constituencies with populations ranging from 20 to 25 lakh people, emphasizing the need for constituency delimitation for effective governance. He commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his initiative on the Women’s Reservation Bill and urged opposition parties to support it for women’s empowerment.
Shinde also discussed crucial development projects in Maharashtra following a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The projects included addressing irrigation challenges, the Marathwada Irrigation Project, and various infrastructure and development schemes. Amit Shah assured that these proposals would be presented in the upcoming Cabinet meeting and assigned coordination responsibilities to MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde.
Regarding the Shiv Sena faction, Eknath Shinde confirmed the completion of legal formalities for the two-thirds majority of MPs joining them and expressed confidence in the Lok Sabha Speaker’s decision-making process. He praised the Modi government’s achievements in poverty alleviation and contrasted the financial support received by Maharashtra under different regimes. Shinde criticized the opposition’s alleged focus on corruption and highlighted the government’s commitment to national welfare.
