The Bengaluru police apprehended a 23-year-old man from Kerala, identified as Amul, for stealing women’s undergarments and filming himself wearing them. Amul was caught after CCTV footage captured his activities in residential areas of the city. He targeted houses and balconies where clothes were drying, ensuring no one was watching before taking the undergarments.
Police discovered a significant number of stolen women’s undergarments at Amul’s residence during interrogation. A digital examination of his phone revealed videos of him wearing the stolen clothes. Amul admitted to feeling “intoxicated” while wearing the garments, as stated during the investigation. The Hebbagodi police have filed a case against him under relevant sections of the law.
In a similar incident, a 25-year-old software engineer was arrested in Tumakuru in March 2025 for stealing female students’ innerwear. Despite confessing and CCTV evidence supporting his actions, the victims chose not to press charges. The engineer, who had a porn addiction, was released on bail with a warning. His family background includes parents who are teachers and an elder brother working in software.
Another case in Hebbagodi involved the arrest of a 23-year-old man for wearing women’s innerwear in public places, causing disturbance and alarm among the public. The incident, occurring on January 19, led to concerns and fear among women in the area.
