Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla highlighted the significance of young individuals staying connected to their roots and cultural values in a modern, globalized world. He conveyed this message while sending off the Manipur contingent for the 11th SPIC MACAY International Convention at IIT Kharagpur. SPIC MACAY is a cultural movement promoting Indian classical arts, crafts, yoga, and more to youth.
The week-long convention, running from May 25 to 31, will unite young participants from India and abroad for cultural exchange and learning. Representing Manipur are 18 members from various educational institutions. Governor Bhalla commended the participants, encouraging them to embrace the diverse cultural experiences the convention offers.
Interacting with students and teachers, Governor Bhalla expressed confidence in the convention broadening their cultural horizons. He advised them to engage fully in the convention’s sessions and workshops for a deeper understanding of India’s heritage. The Governor stressed the importance of interacting with peers from different backgrounds to foster unity and mutual understanding.
The flag-off ceremony took place at Lok Bhavan in Imphal, attended by senior officials, dignitaries, and representatives from various organizations.
