A Maoist commander, Adesh Ganjhu, with a Rs 50,000 reward on his head, was apprehended in Latehar district, Jharkhand, along with two associates. The arrested individuals, Ujjwal Kumar and Subhash Kumar, were found in possession of illegal firearms, ammunition, and documents linked to extremist activities.
The operation was initiated based on specific information that Ganjhu and a group of armed cadres were hiding in the Pakrua forest near Banwar village. Superintendent of Police Kumar Gaurav led a successful raid resulting in the capture of three suspects, while others managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
Ganjhu, a long-time member of the banned Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC), has been involved in various criminal activities across Latehar and Chatra districts. Operating under different aliases, he was known for levy collection, extortion, firing, and other Naxalite-related offenses in multiple areas.
