A significant fire erupted on the second floor of the Ministry of Education office situated on the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) campus in Delhi’s ITO area. Eight fire tenders were dispatched to the scene promptly, as confirmed by the Delhi Fire Services. The fire, which began on the second floor of the ‘School of Planning and Architecture’ building at ITO, led to the immediate evacuation of all occupants. The Fire Department was quickly notified about the situation.
Firefighters received a call about the blaze around 9:37 a.m., following which fire tenders were rushed to the location for ongoing firefighting operations. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, as mentioned by officials. Investigations are in progress, and further information is anticipated.
In a separate incident, a massive fire broke out in a residence in Indira Vihar, situated in the Mukherjee Nagar area of North-West Delhi. Several fire tenders responded to the scene and successfully controlled the fire without any reported casualties. The Fire Department was alerted about the fire around 10:30 p.m. the previous night. The fire initially started among household items and quickly engulfed the entire three-story building.
Residents indicated that the air conditioning unit in the house had recently undergone repairs before the incident, raising concerns about a potential AC blast. Presently, the police from the Mukherjee Nagar station are actively investigating to determine the precise cause of the fire.
