Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, at the Meghalaya IT Awards 2026 ceremony in Shillong, encouraged students to pursue their passions and adapt to a changing technological world. He commended the hard work of meritorious students, emphasizing the values of discipline and perseverance that led to their achievements.

Sangma highlighted the symbolic significance of laptops given to awardees, representing recognition and support for their potential. He urged students to leverage technology for growth and innovation, noting the evolving global landscape driven by technological advancements like Artificial Intelligence.

The Chief Minister shared his own entrepreneurial challenges and emphasized the state government’s focus on fostering entrepreneurship, skill development, and innovation. He urged students to contribute to Meghalaya’s progress, emphasizing the importance of humility and perseverance in achieving success.

Meghalaya Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui stressed the importance of digital learning and technology in everyday life, reflecting the government’s commitment to empowering students. A total of 203 students from various state boards were honored at the event, receiving laptops in recognition of their academic excellence.
