As the Men’s Hockey India League (HIL) commences another season, the HIL Governing Council Team (HIL GC) and Kalinga Lancers are gearing up for a strong start and a shot at the playoffs. The teams consist of a mix of seasoned international players and experienced Indian athletes.

The HIL Governing Council Team took over operational control from the UP Rudras franchise before the 2026 season to ensure stability for players and support staff. Their campaign will kick off on January 5th against SG Pipers, led by Hardik, with a squad blending experience and youth. Key players like James Mazarelo, Prashant Kumar Chauhan, Surender Kumar, and Kane Russell will play crucial roles in defense.

Captain Hardik Singh will lead the midfield, supported by players like Manmeet Singh and Daragh Walsh. The attacking lineup boasts talents such as Lalit Kumar Upadhyay and Sam Ward, known for their scoring prowess. Meanwhile, Kalinga Lancers are banking on a solid defensive core and international experience to improve upon their previous season’s performance.

Kalinga Lancers will rely on goalkeepers Krishan B Pathak and Jed Snowden for reliable coverage at the back. Their defense, featuring prominent players like Arthur Van Doren and Antoine Kina, is further strengthened by players like Sanjay, Sunil PB, and Pratap Lakra. The midfield and forward lines also showcase a blend of international and Indian talent, with players like Liam Henderson, Dilpreet Singh, and Cooper Burns set to make an impact.
