Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal spearheaded talks aimed at shaping a progressive reform agenda for various departments to establish a modern, technology-driven, and citizen-focused legal system. The discussions took place during a two-day event titled ‘Reforms Utsav & Chintan Shivir 2026’ in Mount Abu, Rajasthan, inaugurated by Meghwal on July 4. He emphasized the need for a vision document outlining reform suggestions, strategies for institutional enhancement, and practical implementation steps for the Ministry.
During the event, officials were encouraged to assess the Ministry’s recent accomplishments, deliberate on crucial legal and institutional reforms, and devise a forward-looking strategy to fortify India’s legal and legislative structure. Meghwal highlighted that the gathering underscored the Ministry’s commitment to innovation, transparency, institutional excellence, and collaborative policy formulation to bolster India’s legal and legislative framework in alignment with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
The program included interactive sessions and focused brainstorming sessions on legal governance, legislative changes, digitalization, integration of Artificial Intelligence, technology-driven governance, institutional empowerment, and skill development. A document named ‘Sankalp Patra’ was unveiled by Legislative Department and Department of Legal Affairs Secretary Rajiv Mani, encapsulating the joint determination and reform agenda arising from the Chintan Shivir.
